Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian organization and welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to Habitat's goal of eliminating poverty housing. Habitat homes are sold with no profit made because homeowners contribute "Sweat Equity" and house payments are recycled to build additional homes.

Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut promotes home ownership with volunteers building houses in partnership with residents in need of adequate housing. We are celebrating 15 years of service in the Quiet Corner. Our chapter has built nine houses and serves a ten-town area that includes Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Sterling, Thompson, and Woodstock. Organized in 1993, Habitat for Humanity of Northeast CT has been an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International since 1995. We seek to draw families in need and communities together to build decent, affordable housing. Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Connecticut is committed not only to the construction of houses in the areas we serve but to the development and uplifting of families and the communities where they live.

In-Kind Donations

Do you have extra building materials? Excess, discontinued, or slightly damaged product? Are you interested in using your professional skills on site with Habitat? In-kind donations are a vital part of our mission and you can help contribute.

In-kind donations allow Habitat for Humanity to increase its capacity to build homes, and can account for up to 50% of the total supplies and services on a home we build. We recognize in-kind donors in a variety of ways. Our largest donors are promoted with on-site signage, while all in-kind donors for a site are listed in the home's dedication program. Top donors are also published in our newsletter. Many in-kind donors feel that the best publicity comes from supporting Habitat volunteers working with the donated products on the site.

We accept donations at any time. Please e-mail us
donations@habitatnortheastct.org with a list of your items and where we can pick them up.
